Summary: We are looking for an amazingly talented HSE Manager to join our team.
In this role you will have the main responsibility to ensure that the safety plan is in compliance with corporate policy and prevailing safety legal requirements. While coordinating with company’s project managers, he/she ensures the implementation of the technical and environmental insurance policies in accordance with the legislation in force.
The HSE manager is responsible for the creation, development, implementation, communication and coordination of technical and environmental assurance programs.
The HSE manager reports directly to the Technical managers of the company Progeen sh.p.k and carries close relations with the Construction Sites managers as well as with other departments such as finance, technical department and human resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the planning, administration, training, and enforcement of facility’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) program to ensure compliance with all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations of our larger, more complex site. Identifies hazards and assesses risk to HSE, involving individuals to identify the appropriate safety controls, and provides guidance on accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees.
Develops and implements safety policies in accordance with national or international legislation depending on the requirements of each project.
Identifies best practices and takes initiatives for continuous improvement of safety, reduction of risks in various work processes and awareness of employees about work safety.
Develops, implements and maintains records of training programs according to the guidelines of regulations in force, dangerous working conditions, use of safety equipment, etc.
Monitors the implementation of occupational health and safety rules by subcontractors.
Review work rules and procedures, maintain records and prepare management reports in order to foster a division-wide culture focused on maintaining a safe workplace while strengthening health, safety and environmental risk initiatives.
Provides technical assistance, training, guidance and monitors other managers regarding security issues and necessary changes in processes.
Conducts regular site visits and inspections, prepares reports on the inspections carried out; gives recommendations for corrective measures and follows up to their full implementation.
Adheres to Progeen Ltd. company policies, internal regulations, code of ethics and procedures.
Verifies PPE compliance on construction sites.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in environmental, safety, industrial or related field.
Work Health and Safety certifications.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of HSE experience
Skills & Competencies:
Must be able to conduct training for individuals or groups
Fluent in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Ability to thoroughly investigate circumstances surrounding accidents/injuries, document findings factually
Must have good listening skills and earn the support of the workforce across all shifts
Must be able to freely communicate concerns and issues to all levels of leadership, keeping communication open and sincere
Ability to suggest solutions and make decisions;
Understanding priorities and meeting deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a great team collaborator.
High degree of attention to detail is required. Typically, this relates to compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations
Must support and implement all policies/procedures without bias
Able to identify recommended policies/procedures that are no longer relevant and need to be modified/abolished
Possess a Driving license.
