PHP Back End Developer

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Produce high-quality back-end solutions that meet business requirements, on time and within budget.
Work collaboratively with design, development, management, & QA teams.
Work on multiple, diversified projects.
Troubleshoot back-end issues and provide rapid solutions.
Follow best practices and coding standards.
Communicate progress, timelines, & deliverables; give updates and collaborate in standups and other meetings.
Participate in Shero mentoring, skill sharing, and Code Clubs.
Working knowledge of Magento development.
Proven experience of past work and results.
Responsible and ambitious, sets high goals for oneself.
Is curious and a constant learner.
Driven to challenge your own way of thinking about a problem or solution.
Knows when to defend work and when to be flexible.
Exceptional ability to:
Produce clean, well-documented, and standards-compliant code, with an eye toward performance optimization.
Identify issues, errors, and bottlenecks, and provide solutions.

Experience with:
PHP-based ecommerce frameworks.
PHP (excellent if familiar with PHP 8).
OOP / Design Patterns / Code architecture.
MySQL.
Basic DevOps skills for LEMP.
Software architecture.
Best practices within Code Quality, Performance, Security, and Maintainability.
Profiling, stress testing, and performance tuning.
Unit testing with PHP, and ideally TDD.
Understanding of behavior-driven development.
Source control workflows using Git.

Not Required but Major Bonuses:

Experience with:
Agile development
Experience with other common CMS and frameworks (e.g. BigCommerce, Shopify, WordPress, etc.)
AWS Cloud Hosting (EC2/RDS and other technologies)
SEO/SEM best practices
Jira & the Atlassian suite
